The Public Art Summer Walking Tour will be a short walk exploring some of the public art in downtown Huntingdon. This is part of the Summer Walking Tours series run by Huntingdon Landmarks.

John Kearns, Executive Director of the Huntingdon County Arts Council, will lead the tour.

The event is free, but donations appreciated.

Jazz rules the earth, or at least our small corner of it, on April 14 when the Gabriel Herrera Quintet takes the stage at the Huntingdon County Arts Center. The group consists of Gabriel Herrera on trombone, Bob Hart on guitar, Alex Mijangos on bass, Kevin Lowe on drums, and special guest Rick Hirsch on saxophone. Gabriel Herrera is a New York City and (now) State College-based jazz musician and composer. He has performed at a variety of acclaimed venues, such as the Montreux Jazz Festival, the Lincoln Center, and Jazz à Vienne. Members of his group have had extensive experience touring and performing with many well-known performers in the jazz and pop world. Special guest Rick Hirsch is an award-winning composer, arranger, and saxophonist who has written for a variety of jazz icons, including Yosef Lateef and Tito Puente. Tickets are $20 ($16 for Arts Council Members and students) and are available at the Art Center (313 12th Street, Huntingdon) during opening hours (Tuesday-Saturday, 10-5), online at huntingdoncountyarts.com, and at the door.
