Inhabited Settings is an exhibit by a trio of local artist: Harlan Ritchey, Fran Bowman and Jeff Bowman.

Harlan Ritchey works with paint, Fran Bowman works in stained glass and Jeff Bowman works with wood. Each has the creative vision to go from concept to finished art, resulting in their artistic expression and a delightful exhibit.

The exhibit will be on display at The Art Space from September 9 to 29.

Create Your Own Fiber Craft at Art Walk Huntingdon @ The Art Space

Join us Thursday, September 21, as the Huntingdon County Arts Council participates in Art Walk Huntingdon with a very special event: Create Your Own Fiber Craft.

Cindy Felisberto will lead instruction on some cool fiber projects: a twisted rope project and stick weaving.

Cindy will be leading 6 similar fiber craft projects called Make & Takes at Fiber ArtsFest on Saturday, September 23 at the Huntingdon County Fairgrounds from 10 am to 4 pm.

Art Walk Huntingdon takes place on the third Thursday of every month during the hours of 5:00-8:00 pm.

The Arts Council is one of 12 venues participating in Art Walk Huntingdon. All events are open to the public thanks to the sponsorship of participating businesses and the Huntingdon County Visitors Bureau.

Fiber ArtsFest Classes @ Huntingdon County Fairgrounds

Fiber ArtsFest classes will be held on both Friday and Saturday, September 22 and 23. A variety of full and half-day workshops on both days offer instruction in different fiber art techniques for all levels of expertise. Bellefonte based quilt teacher Barbara Dann will teach a quilt design called Tumbling Triangles.

Bead artist Marie Campbell will provide instructions to make an Out of This World Necklace. She resides in rural Huntingdon County and teaches the exquisite artistry of beading internationally. Class registrations will stay open until classes are filled or supplies exhausted. Registration forms and more detail are available online at www.fiberartsfest.org.

The 14 classes include Tumbling Triangles (quilting), Sashiko Sampler (embroidery), Out of This World Necklace (beading), Double Wedding Ring Quilt, Not Your Grandmother’s Embroidery, Quilting with Silk Flowers, Holiday Ornament (needle felting), Mug Rug for Fun (appliqué), Needle Felting 2-D Fabric Painting, Designing Fabulous Fabric (fabric art), It’s All About the Fit (knitting), Upcycling with Paper (paper making), Yarn 101 (knitting), and Decorative Knot Tying.

Fiber ArtsFest Vendor Market Place @ Johnson Hall, Huntingdon County Fairgrounds

Fiber enthusiasts from across the region will flock to the Huntingdon County Fairgrounds for Fiber ArtsFest this September. The event seeks to promote fiber arts to celebrate the creation of and creativity in the use of fiber. A free one-day vendor Market Place on Saturday, September 23 will feature fiber vendors, along with demonstrations, and simple craft projects to do called make & takes. The vendor fair includes a wide variety of both fiber products and fiber creations. In addition, the Fair’s Farm Museum will be open. The Market Place is open from 9 am to 5 pm in Johnson Hall.
