About Us

The Huntingdon County Arts Council (HCAC) was established in 1972 to serve the residents of Huntingdon County, Pennsylvania. Its audience now includes neighboring counties and visitors as collaboration and service expand. As a 501(c)3 non-profit organization, we receive support from local governments, the Pennsylvania Council on the Arts, a state agency, and its membership.

The organization is governed by a board of directors, elected annually with representatives from throughout the county and varied backgrounds. Day-to-day activities are handled by an executive director.

HCAC activities vary throughout the year, and individual programs and projects are subject to funding availability and continuous review. While some HCAC programs have withstood the test of time, others have evolved to meet new needs and conditions. The HCAC encourages partnerships with other organizations or government entities to allow for maximum cooperation and benefit.

In April 2022, the Arts Council purchased the 12th Street Methodist Church at 313 12th Street, Huntingdon, and turned it into the Huntingdon County Arts Center. The Arts Center is home to exhibits, concerts, classes and workshops, and a meeting place for community organizations.

While the majority of HCAC programs are geared towards the enjoyment of the general public, we also serve an active artist community in and around the county. We also strive to provide opportunities for artists, whether providing an exhibit space, selling their artwork at our Art and Holiday Shoppe, serving as a performance venue, or providing instruction at educational events.

Board meetings are held monthly and are open to the membership. Please call (814) 643-6220 for more information or check the calendar for time and location information.

👉We have a new art exhibit! 🎨This exhibit celebrates the creative journey between student and teacher in oil painting. Keppy Arnoldsen, a newcomer to oil painting, showcases her initial works, highlighting the courage to try something new and the influence of mentorship. Guided by accomplished artist Lynn Stewart, known for her impressionist style, Keppy explored color, form, and personal expression. Together, their paintings illustrate the powerful impact a teacher can have on a student's artistic growth. Teacher and Student – Making Lasting Impressions through Oil Painting invites viewers to appreciate individual development and creative collaboration. #localart#artexhibition#huntingdonpa#huntingdoncountyartscouncil ...
