Stephen Haynes: Outside in Paint Exhibit

Category:Exhibits

The exhibit Stephen Hanes: Outside in Paint is open at The Art Space during October.

As an artist Stephen Haynes works directly from observation, painting scenes that are casual and somewhat transient in nature, as if stumbled upon by accident. The goal of his work is twofold: to make art that is pleasing, as representations of the scene he is attempting to capture, and as topographic, tactile objects to be appreciated in and of themselves. This interplay of interior illusion and exterior painting is fascinating to him. He pushes the boundaries of abstraction and use of bold color in his work. His exhibit of oil paintings is outstanding.

There will be an artist’s reception on Friday, October 12, from 6 to 8 pm.

The Art Space is open:
Tuesday, Thursday and Friday, from 12 pm to 6 pm
Saturday from 10 am to 4 pm

The Art Space is located at 212 Fourth Street in downtown Huntingdon.
