A Note to Arts Council Members
Category:UpdatesLike other organizations around the country, the Huntingdon County Arts Council was forced to shut down its activities in March. This involved temporarily closing The Art Space and canceling the Spring Thaw exhibit in April (our most popular show of the year), our spring fundraiser held in conjunction with the Huntingdon County Library, and, most recently, Folk College. The last step was the most painful because Folk College generates a significant proportion of our operating revenue for the year.
We don’t know when current business and social restrictions will be lifted or what the rules will be when this occurs. Nevertheless, until we learn otherwise, we are planning to have an exhibit at The Art Space in June, a summer fundraiser at the Gage Mansion, Concerts on the Quad at Juniata College this summer, an exhibit at the Art Station at the county fair, and the Fiber Arts Fest in the fall. We will keep you informed about the viability of these events as the situation becomes clearer.
