Paper Yarn & Beyond Class

Fiber artist Kari Roslund will explore the basic process of creating  kami-ito, paper yarn in the first class.
Using a variety of paper sources, this class will experiment with a range of techniques needed to create yarn.
Students will then be encouraged to weave, crochet, knit, or sew a finished project that incorporates their spun work and return for the second class session to share their work.

The first class session is on Monday, July 25, from 6 to 7:30 pm.
The second class session is on Monday, August 1, from 6 to 7:30 pm.

Classes held at the Huntingdon County Arts Center (formerly the 12th Street Methodist Church) at 313 12th Street, Huntingdon.

Classes are $45 for the general public and $40 for current Arts Council members.

About the Instructor

Kari Roslund

Kari grew up in Woolrich, PA and developed an affinity for woven woolen wares and the story of wool. As a talented artist, she likes to work with raw fleeces and hand dyed locks and roving, creating a type of contemporary tapestry, bringing a three dimensional element to her impressionistic work.

At the Huntingdon County Arts Center, we offer seven different weeks of summer art camp for kids, for 9- to 12-year-olds. The classes are from 9 to 11 a.m. Monday through Thursday, with a different theme each week. The cost for each weekly session is $90.
