Category:UncategorizedAnne Sullivan will perform a classical music concert on Sunday, October 16 at 2 p.m. in the new Huntingdon County Arts Center (formerly the 12th Street Methodist Church) at the corner of 12th & Mifflin Streets in Huntingdon.
Anne Sullivan started her career as a child prodigy, performing with the Philadelphia Orchestra when she was only 12 years old. Since then she has become one of the top harpists in the United States.
Hearing Anne Sullivan can be an “other worldly” experience. Her music has been described as angelic, delicate, ethereal, and calming. Some listeners imagine that they are floating blissfully in space, surrounded by images of heavenly beauty.
Anne is a native of Philadelphia and maintains a studio near State College in PA. She has appeared with a variety of Symphony and Chamber Orchestras on the east coast, and has released two CDs of harp music. She currently teaches harp at the University of Delaware and Swarthmore (PA) College.
Her concert in Huntingdon will feature music from the Baroque, Classical, and Romantic, and modern eras. She also will perform several traditional folk pieces, including the popular Greensleeves.
Tickets are $12 for the general public and $12 for current Arts Council members and students (with ID). Children under 12 are free.
