Folk College, A Great Weekend of Music, May 26-28

Category:Events

Folk College is three days of playing and listening to folk music in a fun and friendly environment! For 18 years Folk College has fostered and often rekindled the love for music in a non-competitive environment with classes, instruction, concerts and fellowship for all instruments and skill levels.

Folk College offers a level of music engagement that brings people back year after year. Classes range from “master classes” for practiced musicians, to “how to jam” and instrument sampling workshops for the novice folk musician. Learn a new skill on your instrument with over 70 workshops to choose from plus join faculty led jam sessions and enjoy three concerts. Folk College is an opportunity to play the music you love and love the music you play!

Simple Gifts and the Huntingdon County Arts Council have teamed up to provide you a truly outstanding faculty roster to encourage, challenge, enlighten, coach and entertain you. Highlighting this year is folk music legend Happy Traum, the energy of The Appleseed Collective, the spunk of Bumper Jacksons, and the dedication of many others. In total, 25 musicians will be on hand to share their passion for music with you at Folk College, held at Juniata College in Huntingdon.
