Plant-Based Dinner on Friday, July 26

Come to the Arts Center and enjoy a meal prepared by Elaine Meder-Wilgus, accomplished vegan chef and owner of the popular Webster’s Bookstore Cafe in State College.

The evening will start with a cocktail hour (with appetizers) between 5:30 and 6:30, with live music provided by Nick Miller. Dinner will be served at 6:30 followed by dessert. During the dinner, we will have a short talk on plant-based eating, followed by more music. 

Tickets are $30 per person and must be purchased by Wednesday, July 24. Tickets include appetizers, a main dish, sides, dessert, coffee, tea, mineral water, and ice water. A cash bar will sell wine, beer, cocktails. 

The dinner will take place in the lower level of the Arts Center. Dinner be served at communal tables, although there is an option to reserve a private four-person with the purchase of four tickets.  

Here is the tentative menu: 

Appetizers

Spinach and artichoke dip with crackers (gluten free)

Pickled vegetables and olive tray with sunflower seed dip, served with bruschetta 

Main Course

Mushroom Wellington in puff pastry with zucchini, roasted red peppers, and pesto, served with cashew cream (and an alternative sauce for those with nut allergies) 

Mashed potatoes

Creamy corn pudding

Greens with fresh dressing

Dessert

Carrot cake with delectable icing (gluten free)
