Attention Artists: Call for Entries for March Equinox Show
Category:Events,ExhibitsThe Huntingdon County Arts Council is looking for artists to exhibit in our March Call for Entries exhibit.
We invite area artists to submit entries based on the theme of Equinox.
March 20, 2022 is the date of the Vernal (or Spring) Equinox. Vernal means “new” or “fresh,” and equinox means “equal.” This is the date when the direct rays of the sun fall on the equator and day and night are nearly identical in length.
Astronomers consider the Vernal Equinox to be the first day of spring. For people around the world, this day represents renewal, new life, and joy. Henry Wadsworth Longfellow captured this spirit when he wrote, “The spring came suddenly, bursting upon the world as a child bursts into a room, with a laugh and a shout and hands full of flowers.”
Artists work accepted includes all media, such as 2D and 3D artwork, poetry, and prose, all based on, inspired by, or related to the theme of Equinox.
