Closing Reception, By Foot Exhibit Friday, August 23

Category:Events,Exhibits
Join us at a closing reception for the “By Foot” exhibition, featuring photography by Sarah Anne Wharton in partnership with Fair Shake Environmental Legal Services. Fair Shake CEO Emily Collins will be on hand to describe the important legal advocacy work her organization does to highlight the people and places of the Appalachian Basin impacted by extractive industries and environmental degradation.

Collins will also discuss the experience of the 334-mile ultrarun that she and others took along the Great Allegheny Passage and Chesapeake & Ohio Canal National Historical Park to explore and document the regions and people Fair Shake serves. Through their on-the-ground connection and running the regions they serve, Fair Shake hopes to grow exposure for forgotten communities and identify areas where they can assist in building community wealth and knowledge through environmental advocacy and education.

Artist Sarah Anne Wharton will also be in attendance to describe her role as documentarian of the project.
Light refreshments will be served.

This exhibit will be open through Saturday, August 31.

The Art Space is open:
Tuesday, Thursday, and Friday from 12 to 6 pm
Saturday from 10 am to 4 pm

The Art Space is located at 212 Fourth Street in downtown Huntingdon and is a project of the Huntingdon County Arts Council.
