Art Cat Blues Club, February 24

SOLD OUT!

On Saturday, February 24, the Art Cat Blues Club will feature an evening of blues and traditional American music from four outstanding musicians.

Richard Sleigh is a high-octane blues musician who has performed on stage with Bo Diddely, Taj Mahal, Paquito D’Rivera, and many other well known artists. Although based firmly in the blues, his performances incorporate elements of Celtic, rock ’n roll, fiddle tunes, and American roots music.  In addition to being a consummate player, Richard is well known as a pioneer and designer of high-performance customized harmonicas.

Jerry Zolten has performed with Richard Sleigh for decades. Known as “The Jive Bombers,” their vocal harmonies, guitar, and harmonica playing cover a range of musical styles, including blues, swing, and rockabilly. In addition to being a great musician, Jerry Zolten is a Professor Emeritus at Penn State University and has written extensively on blues, gospel, country music, and rock & roll.

Gus Tritsch, a young musician from Millheim, PA, emerged on the music scene a few years ago and is rapidly building an impressive reputation. In addition to singing, he plays fiddle and guitar. As part of the group, The Wicked Chicken, he has toured across the United States (from Florida to Alaska) and in the United Kingdom, and has won a variety of musical competitions and awards along the way.

Justin Griffin is a professional drummer and drum instructor. He collaborates with several bands in the central Pennsylvania region, including Open Music, Home Planet, Crooner & Co., and La Fiesta Band. His playing is rooted in jazz but also includes elements of rhythm & blues, Latin, and experimental music.

👉We have a new art exhibit! 🎨This exhibit celebrates the creative journey between student and teacher in oil painting. Keppy Arnoldsen, a newcomer to oil painting, showcases her initial works, highlighting the courage to try something new and the influence of mentorship. Guided by accomplished artist Lynn Stewart, known for her impressionist style, Keppy explored color, form, and personal expression. Together, their paintings illustrate the powerful impact a teacher can have on a student's artistic growth. Teacher and Student – Making Lasting Impressions through Oil Painting invites viewers to appreciate individual development and creative collaboration. #localart#artexhibition#huntingdonpa#huntingdoncountyartscouncil ...
