Description

Fiber artist Kari Roslund will explore the basic process of creating  kami-ito, paper yarn in the first class.
Using a variety of paper sources, this class will experiment with a range of techniques needed to create yarn.
Students will then be encouraged to weave, crochet, knit, or sew a finished project that incorporates their spun work and return for the second class session to share their work.

The first class session is on Monday, July 25, from 6 to 7:30 pm.
The second class session is on Monday, August 1, from 6 to 7:30 pm.

Classes held at the Huntingdon County Arts Center (formerly the 12th Street Methodist Church) at 313 12th Street, Huntingdon.

Classes are $45 for the general public and $40 for current Arts Council members.
All materials are supplied.

About the Instructor

Kari Roslund grew up in Woolrich, PA and developed an affinity for woven woolen wares and the story of wool. As a talented artist, she likes to work with raw fleeces and hand dyed locks and roving, creating a type of contemporary tapestry, bringing a three dimensional element to her impressionistic work.
