Writing Workshop with Prudence Ingerman

The Huntingdon County Arts Council is offering a 6-week Writing Workshop course taught by Prudence Ingerman that is designed to ignite the creativity of participants.  Each class will feature a new technique and some in-class practice done only by hand. Jacob Lawrence: A Great Painter of African American Life

Jacob Lawrence (1917-2000) was a great 20th century African American painter whose work focused on the experiences and everyday lives of African Americans. Although he described his style as “dynamic cubism,” his work had little in common with European cubism. Most of Lawrence’s paintings contrast bright, vivid colors with primarily brown and black human figures.

Make a Peace Pal Workshop: February 17, 6:30 pm

The Make a Peace Pal workshop will allow participants to learn to knit a small service project, the Peace Pal. The workshop will be held on Monday, February 17, from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. at The Art Space, 212 Fourth Street, Huntingdon, PA. The cost is $15 and includes a small instruction book. Peace Pals

Art Walk Huntingdon to Feature Fiber ArtsFest Teachers

Arts Council Awards Arts in Ed Grants

The Huntingdon County Arts Council is pleased to award its first Arts in Education grant! The grant is awarded for Mud Mobile, a project spearheaded by Bethany Benson at Juniata College to establish a mobile ceramics project that will bring ceramic arts and art education experiences to local Huntingdon County Students.
