New Class Added: Positive Energy

Category:Class

We are excited to add a new class: Positive Energy, a Mixed Media Art Class, with Evgeny Krayshkin

Class Description:

In this Art Residency, sponsored by the Pennsylvania Council for the Arts, TIU Galaxy Program, and Huntingdon Arts Council, we will be exploring Visual Storytelling.

During this residency, the participants will use mixed media to create individual stories in which they would reflect on and explore their individual inner beauty, positive self-esteem, strength, spirit, and inspiration.

Using the medium of storytelling in art, the students will be encouraged to create a visual affirmation of their personal growth, to explore their inner positive energy by means of color and composition, to imbue visual images with personal meaning. Every artwork has a certain meaning in it, whether universal or personal, however, the artwork which is filled with personal meaning tends to grow with the individual every day, developing in thought, narrative and even acquiring new details and connections.

Activities:
There are several projects that would be included in the Art Residency.

“Secret place of Calm and Peace” in which we will meditate on and then create a visual representation of your inner peace. The place to which you go inside your mind to calm and relax, to recharge your mind and spirit.

“Inner Energy” is an exploration of abstract painting and connecting beautiful colors to particular positive energy and emotions. A portrait of personal energy as each participant sees it. Applying personal meaning to the forces and strength inside each one of us.

Sculpture Play. This is a relaxing project, filled with humor and whimsy. Creating expressions in clay sculpture medium to demonstrate how art can generate fun and laughter. With a twist surprise of an added piece of Huntingdon History.

“The Wild and Wonderful Self” A visual affirmation of one’s own personal strengths, beauty and inspiration, done on a triptych in the form of a book which opens into the inner world of the individual, filled with positive light and energy.

Monday & Wednesday/ 10 sessions
March 31, April 2, 7, 9, 14, 16, 21, 23, 28 and 30.
