Observations Exhibit to Open Friday, September 6
Category:Events,ExhibitsTwo Huntingdon County artists team up for a unique exhibit in September at The Art Space. Their Observations Exhibit combines the paintings and writings of Spruce Creek resident John Sullivan and the powder horn artistry of Huntingdon resident Art DeCamp.
This one-of-a-kind exhibit is a combination of paintings and items made from animal horns.
John Sullivan took art appreciation classes in college and vowed to learn to paint. At sixty he finally took up watercolors and has continued to explore the world of painting with different subjects and techniques.
Art DeCamp specializes in the authentic replication and historically accurate restoration of powder horns. He is recognized as a Master Horner by the Honourable Company of Horners and is highly skilled at the craft of using horns as a medium for a wide range of items, including powder horns, cups, utensils, and other historical items.
An opening reception for the Observation exhibit will be held on Friday, September 6 from 6 to 8 pm.
Light refreshments will be served.
The exhibit is open through Saturday, September 28.
The Art Space is open:
Tuesday, Thursday and Friday, from 12 pm to 6 pm
Saturday from 10 am to 4 pm
The Art Space is located at 212 Fourth Street in downtown Huntingdon.
