Vienna Serenade Concert @ Huntingdon County Arts Center

Join us on Sunday, June 2, at 2 p.m., for a great music concert by the Vienna Serenade.

Vienna Serenade, the newest musical ensemble in central Pennsylvania, consists of 11 professional musicians dedicated to performing the music of Old Vienna. They focus on the 19th-century European Romantic era and feature compositions by artists such as Johann Strauss Jr., Antonin Dvorak, and Emile Waldteufel.

Susan Kroeker, a professional flutist with a decades-long history in the music scene,  formed the ensemble last year. She previously served as the executive director for the Pennsylvania Chamber Orchestra, founded and worked with the Community Chamber Artists, and founded and currently directs the Masterworks Student Orchestra of Pennsylvania.

As she said, “I have always enjoyed the music of Old Vienna, as it exemplifies the elegance and beauty of that time in history. It has been my dream for many years to start an ensemble such as Vienna Serenade to share this attractive music with classical music lovers in our area, both for concerts and for elegant ballroom dance settings. This type of music lifts the spirits and makes one want to get up and dance!”

The 11 musicians in Vienna Serenade perform on a variety of instruments, including flute, oboe, clarinet, French horn, trumpet, two violins, viola, cello, percussion and piano. Together, they bring the music of old Vienna to life, right here in Huntingdon!

Tickets are $20 for general admission and $16 for Arts Council members and students (with ID).
Admission is free for children 12 and under.

Tickets can be purchased online, at the Huntingdon County Arts Center during normal business hours, and at the door.
