Vienna Serenade Concert: Sunday, June 2

Category:Concerts

Vienna Serenade, a group dedicated to the music of Old Vienna, will
perform at the Arts Center on Sunday, June 2, at 2 p.m. The group
consists of 11 professional musicians who focus on music from the
19th-century European Romantic era, including compositions by artists
such as Johann Strauss Jr., Antonin Dvorak, and Emile Waldteufel.

Susan Kroeker, a professional flutist with a decades-long history in
the music scene, formed the ensemble last year. As she said, β€œI have
always enjoyed the music of Old Vienna, as it exemplifies the elegance
and beauty of that time in history. It has been my dream for many
years to start an ensemble such as Vienna Serenade to share this
attractive music with classical music lovers in our area, both for
concerts and for elegant ballroom dance settings. This type of music
lifts the spirits and makes one want to get up and dance!”

The musicians in Vienna Serenade perform on a variety of instruments,
including flute, oboe, clarinet, French horn, trumpet, two violins,
viola, cello, percussion and piano. Together, they bring the music of
Old Vienna to life, right here in Huntingdon!

Tickets are $20 for general admission and $16 for Arts Council members and students (with ID). Admission is free for children 12 and under.

You can purchase your tickets online or at theΒ Huntingdon County Arts Center during regular business hours.
