Fiber ArtsFest classes will be held on both Friday and Saturday, September 22 and 23. A variety of full and half-day workshops on both days offer instruction in different fiber art techniques for all levels of expertise. Bellefonte based quilt teacher Barbara Dann will teach a quilt design called Tumbling Triangles.

Bead artist Marie Campbell will provide instructions to make an Out of This World Necklace. She resides in rural Huntingdon County and teaches the exquisite artistry of beading internationally. Class registrations will stay open until classes are filled or supplies exhausted. Registration forms and more detail are available online at www.fiberartsfest.org.

The 14 classes include Tumbling Triangles (quilting), Sashiko Sampler (embroidery), Out of This World Necklace (beading), Double Wedding Ring Quilt, Not Your Grandmother’s Embroidery, Quilting with Silk Flowers, Holiday Ornament (needle felting), Mug Rug for Fun (appliquΓ©), Needle Felting 2-D Fabric Painting, Designing Fabulous Fabric (fabric art), It’s All About the Fit (knitting), Upcycling with Paper (paper making), Yarn 101 (knitting), and Decorative Knot Tying.

At the Huntingdon County Arts Center, we offer seven different weeks of summer art camp for kids, for 9- to 12-year-olds. Our annual Call for Entries exhibit celebrates Lake Raystown's 50th anniversary this year.
