Description

NOTICE: The date of this workshop changed to Saturday, October 22.

J. Harlan Ritchey is a self-taught artist with almost a decade of teaching experience specializing in ink, watercolor, and gouache.Β

The Fall Foliage in Watercolor workshop is on Saturday, October 22, from 1 to 3:30 p.m. It will explore various watercolor techniques (wet-on-wet, wet-on-dry, drybrush) to express Pennsylvania’s vibrant colors and memorable autumn scenery. The class will begin with an instructor demonstration, followed by students working at their own pace and comfort level, with the instructor available for questions and one-on-one guidance. Some familiarity with watercolor supplies and materials will be helpful but is not necessary.Β

The cost for the workshop is $25 for nonmembers and $20 for members.

The workshop is held at the Huntingdon County Arts Center (formerly the 12th Street Methodist Church) at 313 12th Street, Huntingdon.

Students should bring:

  • Watercolor paper (paper intended specifically for use with watercolors)
  • Watercolor brushes
  • Watercolor paint
  • Palette (a sturdy paper plate is fine)
