Jacob Lawrence (1917-2000) was a great 20th century African American painter whose work focused on the experiences and everyday lives of African Americans. Although he described his style as “dynamic cubism,” his work had little in common with European cubism. The Huntingdon County Arts Council is pleased to award its first Arts in Education grant! The grant is awarded for Mud Mobile, a project spearheaded by Bethany Benson at Juniata College to establish a mobile ceramics project that will bring ceramic arts and art education experiences to local Huntingdon County Students.
The Art Space, at 212 Fourth Street in Huntingdon, is home to monthly exhibits. During each exhibit, The Art Space is open: Tuesdays, Thursdays and Fridays 12 – 6 pm. Saturdays 10 am – 4 pm.
